CANYON EISBERG UPDATE: TOUR SERIES DOMINATION AND THE RAS

Canyon Eisberg

The hard work of Canyon Eisberg has come together, with a stunning streak of wins from the OVO Energy Tour Series. Harry Tanfield delivered a remarkable show of strength as Canyon Eisberg snatched the Tour Series lead in Stevenage.

The 23-year-old soloed to a second successive crit victory in the championship, following his maiden triumph in Aberystwyth on Saturday. Chris Opie, Andrew Tennant and Charles Page all sprinted to top-10 finishes, which gave Canyon Eisberg the team victory. To add to this, nineteen-year-old Charles managed to put in the fastest lap prize, completing another memorable night for the team.  It was a dominant display from the squad, coming hot on the heels of the team time trial success earlier in the day.

This comes in just after Andrew Tennant and Jack Pullar delivered a memorable Tour Series double for Canyon Eisberg in Durham last week. Andrew (pictured above) powered to glory in the crit on Tuesday night, just hours after his team-mate Jack had cruised to hill climb victory.

Other riders of the Canyon Eisberg team jumped over the Irish Sea to take part in the infamous Rás Tailteann. Sunday saw climber Max Stedman sprint into ninth place in a thrilling final stage. Capping teams with five-man limit forced Canyon Eisberg to ride with an all-or-nothing attitude the entire eight-stage race crossing through the Emerald Isle.

"The Ras has a friendly feel and the field is made up from half UCI Continental teams and the other half county squads. It’s always point-to-point – there are hardly any transfers, it is raced on incredible roads and they love to see an underdog succeed. If an Irish rider wins a stage it’s such a big deal they’ll never have to pay for a pint of Guinness in their hometown again."
