READER'S RIDE: Canyon Eisberg's Aeroad

Featuring everything you can possibly want on a pro race bike, this Canyon Aeroad is adorned with some top-shelf performance parts. Stepping through the bike we can see the addition of some new components for 2018 as well as some tried and trusted parts carrying on over.

Canyon Eisberg

Frame / Bar / Stem / SeatPost

This is of course taken care of Canyon using their own in-house components to suit the Aeroad frame. Asides from TTs, most have the them have opted for the Aeroad with only a few riders like climber Max Stedman selecting the more traditional Ultimate for those hiller days to come.

The team is entirely aboard the V13 one piece bar/stem combo with sizing switching between 90-130mm for stem length and 390 - 430mm for bar width depending on the rider.

Groupset

This part of the bike has seen the most interesting changes from last season. Decked out with Rotor cranks and their accompanying power meter, the team have also moved from a Dura Ace mechanical derailleurs and chains/cassettes to an Ultegra Di2 outfit.

Contact Points and Cages

This year has come with a welcomed new sponsor Fabric who are taking care of saddle duties. The team is split between the Scoop in both flat and shallow profiles with a smaller number of riders using the Line model. Bar tape and cages are 3T and pedals are Speedplay numbers.

Wheels and Tyres

If you have not already heard, Canyon Eisberg has decided to now use tubeless set up for 70% of their racing needs. Showing that the new team is not scared to push tradition aside and adopt new and proven technology from their successful 2017 season, the team now have a selection of 50Carbon Aero Wide, 3650Carbon Aero Wide and 36Carbon Aero Wide wheels depending on the conditions and terrain.

Tyres are provided by Maxxis under their Padrone offering with widths ranging mostly from 25mm - 28mm.
