The Purpose
This is the wheel that started it all. We've updated the specs over the years, but the principle has always remained the same: maximise durability whilst minimising any drawbacks in riding characteristics. A wheel not just designed to endure the worst two seasons, but deliver performance reliably all year round.
Back in 2015, we realised that the specification and weights of the existing available 700c road/CX disc wheels were not ideal for a performance bike that would be used in all weather conditions. A lightweight, durable year-round disc wheelset was one of our first projects, and the outcome was the award-winning HUNT 4 Season Disc wheelset.
The 19mm (internal) rim profile is designed for 25-30mm tires, but will work well from 23-45mm. (check compatibility with tire manufacturer).

THE ORIGINAL YEAR-ROUND PERFORMANCE ROAD WHEEL
- Rims | 700c HFR+ (High Fatigue Resistance) heat-treated alloy. Tubeless-ready. Disc Specific. Asymmetric for a highly-durable wheel build. H-lock bead-seat for easy and secure tubeless installation.
- Tires | Wide 19mm rim bed creates a wide tire profile. Great with 23 tires, ideal for 25, 28 and cross tires up to 45c. Also work excellently with clincher tires and tubes.
- Hubs | HUNT 4 Season Disc J-bend spoke hubs with extra bearing shielding. 10° FastEngage 4-pawl freehub, with H_CERAMIK coating for enhanced durability. Centre-lock disc mount. Please note: If you require a 6-bolt adapter you can purchase separately here.
- Axles | Easily adaptable & we fit them for you. Fit all current axle sizes and are easy to change. Click here to see all axle sizes.

- Tubeless-ready – designed to work excellently with normal clincher tires and tubes or tubeless tires. Hunt Black Shield tubeless tape fitted. Hunt Wedgr silver tubeless valves included.

- 24 spokes laced 2 cross front and rear.
- Silver stainless treatment.
Nipples
- Brass for anti-corrosion resistance.
- Square body for external adjustment and hex head for easy internal adjustment/tensioning.
- 12mm length.
- 14 gauge.

Tires Info
- Maximum tire pressure for this rim is 100psi when used with 25-28mm tires. Maximum tire pressures for other tire sizes: 30mm - 32mm do not exceed 70psi, 33mm do not exceed 50psi, 35-45mm do not exceed 45psi, 45-50mm do not exceed 40psi. 100 psi is more than enough for any rider on road.
- The maximum pressure of your tire may be lower than the maximum pressure for the rim - never exceed the maximum pressure written on the side of your tire
- Suitable for tires from 23mm up to 50mm wide.
- Suitable tubeless road, gravel and CX tires are available from a huge range of companies.
Axle Sizes
These wheels are available with all existing disc brake road bike axle adapter sizes. We fit the axles you need, just complete the simple form shown after checkout:
- Front: 12x100mm Thru-Axle, 15x100mm Thru-Axle, 9x100mm Thru-Axle, Quick Release 9x100mm
- Rear: 12x142mm Thru-Axle, 12x135mm Thru-Axle, 10x135mm Thru-Axle, Quick Release 9x135mm
If you are unsure what size your axles are don't worry it also includes the option to tell us your bike model and we will find out and then fit the correct axles, plus we're happy to change them later at our cost if you don't quite get it right. Front Hub
- Forged and CNC’d 6061-T6 heat-treated aluminium alloy body.
- 7075-T6 aluminium alloy axles.

Rear Hub
- 7075-T6 heat-treated aluminium alloy freehub body.
- H_CERAMIK freehub body reinforcement coating provides excellent durability and protects against cassette sprocket damage to the freehub often seen on standard alloy freehub bodies.
- 4 pawl, 10° engagement.
- All freehub standards accounted for.
- Forged and CNC’d 6061-T6 heat treated aluminium alloy body.
- 7075-T6 aluminium alloy axles.

All HUNT wheels models have to pass our harsh cobbled-rolling-road tests for rider weight limits, please see here for more details. Max system weight 115kg (system weight – total weight of fully kitted up rider, bike and luggage) If a rider is over 100Kgs then an experienced bike mechanic should check the wheel regularly and it is advisable to use minimum 25mm tires at max 100psi as this will reduce the fatigue on the wheelset. We are cyclists ourselves and do of course go above and beyond to offer excellent service if you ever do experience any issues. We carry full spares at very reasonable prices and offer complete support.
