The Purpose
Designed to be the ultimate tool for Hill Climb events, not general road racing. The seriously high tensile strength 40ton 6K carbon rims are extremely light (280g), and ideal for this type of use in wheels. Please note, the rough and tumble of general road riding and racing, and long fast alpine downhills with extended heavy braking, is better suited to our T700/800 carbon fiber rims used in the rest of our range, as T700/800 carbon fiber pre-preg has higher impact and heat resistance. - Extremely high tensile strength 40ton 6K carbon-fiber mixed with Toray T700/T800 unidirectional.
- Just 280g each.
- 23mm outer width ideal for 23-28mm road tire widths.
- 30mm deep wide rounded aero section.
- Griptec basalt ceramic fiber brake-track. Please note: We are not able to control other brands brake pad compounds and we cannot test every possible brake pad so please use only our HUNT Brakco Griptec carbon specific rim brake pads with these wheels. Two pairs of pads are included with your wheels and further sets can be ordered from here. We chose the Brakco Griptec pads because they outperform a lot of the market leaders’ best selling compounds in both dry and wet laboratory conditions.

- Pillar's Megalite bladed spokes weighing just 3.4g each.
- Front: 16 spokes laced radially - Aero triple-butted profile.
- Butted 2.0-2.0/0.95-2.0 then PSR section is 2.2.

All HUNT wheels models have to pass our harsh cobbled-rolling-road tests for rider weight limits, please see here for more details. 78kg is the upper recommended rider weight limit for these wheels. Please include the weight of any luggage in your total rider weight when choosing the correct wheels. If a rider is over 70kg then an experienced bike mechanic should check the wheel regularly and it is advisable to use minimum 25mm tires at max 100psi as this will reduce the fatigue on the wheelset. We are cyclists ourselves and do of course go above and beyond to offer excellent service if you ever do experience any issues. We carry full spares at very reasonable prices and offer complete support.
